Strengths: Dekker is at his best finishing in transition and cutting to the hoop, getting dunks and layups. He made 64% of his two point shots this past season. He did a good job working the post when checked by smaller players, taking advantage of his size and athleticism. He’s an able and willing defender. He’ll be able to guard SF’s and some PF’s when teams go small. He was well coached and plays hard at all times. Good role player potential.

Weaknesses: Dekker doesn’t have a good enough handle to create offense one on one off of the bounce, going to the rim or shooting off of the dribble. He had a nice streak shooting the ball from the college 3 point line during the tournament, but he’s been a below average shooter during his career. He’ll have to work on his jumper, extending it out to the three point line if he wants to find time consistently in the NBA. Dekker needs to work on adding strength to his frame so he’ll be able to deal with NBA 3’s and 4’s defensively.
