Title: A sip at age 13
In the depression of my youth, I stumbled astray.
At the age of 13, a sip of St. Ides special brew led me the wrong way.
Felt abandoned by my parents, left to rumble on my own.
But from the depths of my addiction and depression, a new path was shown.
Through the haze and the pain, Alhamdullilah I found my way.
At age 34 I embraced Allaah and His Messenger’s way.
From the ashes of addiction, I rose with might.
With the Quran and the Sunnah as my shield, I embraced the Light.
No longer chained down by my past’s cruel grasp.
I find solace daily in my 5 daily prayers, my heart and soul is now relaxed.
With each day forward, I fight to leave behind my past.
Obeying Allaah and His Messenger, is how I broke free at last.
