Grade: Top 20-30 Pick

Strengths: Looney has great height and length for a NBA PF. He projects to be a face up, pick and pop, stretch 4 man. He has range on his jump shot out to the college three point line. He really shoots the ball well in spot up situations. Flashes the ability to attack closeouts on the bounce and get to the rim. He’s a very active rebounder, especially on the offensive end of the floor. He’s quick off of the floor and has a nose for the basketball. He could be a very good rebounder as a pro once his body feels out. Defensively he’s long, has good feet, could possibly check some SF’s at the next level as well as the PF position. He uses his length to bother jump shooters and guys in the paint.

Weaknesses: Looney has no game with his back to the basket. He also needs time to develop from a physical standpoint. He can’t compete at the NBA level at 222 lbs in the paint on O or D. He’s a great offensive rebounder and finisher at the rim, will draw fouls, but he has to improve his free throw shooting(62%).
